Fredericksburg resident Tyler Trotter, 25, formerly a coach at Brooke Pointe High School, is facing charges following an investigation by the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office into alleged “indecent liberties with a child.”

A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said that earlier this month, a minor reported that she was on a Stafford County school bus traveling to an away game when an assistant basketball coach sat next her.

It is alleged by the victim that Trotter engaged her in a sexually explicit conversation and touched her inappropriately, according to officials.

An arrest warrant was issued for Trotter, who was charged with indecent liberties with a child by a custodian, the sheriff’s office announced on Wednesday, March 29. He was arrested on the warrant and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond.

Officials noted that Trotter is no longer a coach with Stafford County Schools.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
